Southampton Podcast Martin Has Got A Clear Vision

Southampton Podcast: 'Marsch has got a clear vision'

Ralph Hasenhuttl's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has been under pressure in recent weeks, with the team struggling for form in the Premier League.

The Saints have won just one of their last five games and are currently 16th in the table, just three points above the relegation zone.

There have been reports that Hasenhuttl could be sacked if Southampton lose their next game against Newcastle United.

However, the Saints boss has received the backing of the club's hierarchy

In a recent interview, Southampton's director of football, Martin Semmens, said that the club has "full confidence" in Hasenhuttl.

Semmens said that Hasenhuttl has a "clear vision" for the club and that he is the right man to lead Southampton forward.

“Ralph has got a clear vision of what he wants to do with the team and where he wants to take the club," Semmens said.

"He has a plan and he's very passionate about it. We're very supportive of him and we believe in him.”

Hasenhuttl has also received the backing of his players

Speaking after Southampton's defeat to Manchester City, captain James Ward-Prowse said that the players are "fully behind" Hasenhuttl.

“We're all behind the manager. He's a great manager and we believe in him," Ward-Prowse said.

"We know that we're going through a tough time at the moment, but we're confident that we can turn things around.
